Experience the enchanting beauty of Costa Rica on our Twilight Nature Walk at Arenal Sanctuary Reserve. Located in La Fortuna, this immersive tour takes you through a lush, vibrant rainforest that flourishes alongside a lively river, home to a diverse array of wildlife.

The scenic two-kilometer trail is specially designed for safety and accessibility, making it suitable for all ages. Over the course of approximately two hours, you’ll explore different habitats, beginning in the garden area, where you may spot gentle sloths and colorful birds, such as hummingbirds, toucans, turkeys, and hawks. As evening falls, we venture into the forest at dusk to observe nocturnal species such as the kinkajou and some fascinating mammals active after dark.

Along the way, you’ll encounter reptiles like snakes and small lizards, as well as a variety of insects. At the ponds and streams, we often see vibrant frogs, including the green and black poison dart frog, red-eyed tree frog, and the massive bullfrog—spectacular sights in their natural environment. If it rains, the reserve blooms with even more life!

This sunset walk offers a genuine, unfiltered encounter with nature—free from enclosures or barriers—allowing you to experience the true Costa Rican wilderness. While we can’t guarantee you’ll see animals at all times, sightings are common, and we respect the delicate balance of the environment.
